Design a template from scratch, and the master list of fields behind it.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the Library doesn’t have what you need, Template Builder lets you design your own document layout visually, with no code \u2014 built from Sections that hold Components, and backed by the Field Catalog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building the Layout<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Open Template Builder from Templates, Create New<\/strong>, or New, Template<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Click Add New<\/strong> to build a section, or Insert from Library<\/strong> to reuse one from My Sections Library.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Add rows and components inside the section.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Click Save Design<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The Basic category’s Layout group holds the structural pieces \u2014 rows with one to four columns, a standalone Column, and a Page break. Its Basic group holds content pieces like Simple text, Rich text, and Field Wrapper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Components & the Field Catalog<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Components panel groups mapped platform fields into categories: Basic, My Account, Partners, Document Data, Line Items, Forms, Extras, Signatures, and QR Codes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Every field you place comes from the Field Catalog \u2014 a predefined set of fields, each mapped to real account, partner, or document data:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Group<\/th>Covers<\/th><\/tr><\/thead>
    Account & Partners<\/td>Company and partner identity, addresses, contacts, social media, bank details, tax registrations.<\/td><\/tr>
    References<\/td>Links to related documents, such as a purchase order.<\/td><\/tr>
    Document data<\/td>Subject, document number, dates, reference numbers, banking symbols, calculated totals.<\/td><\/tr>
    Section items<\/td>Line items, a free text area, sender\/receiver signature blocks.<\/td><\/tr>
    Attachments<\/td>Supporting files appended to the document.<\/td><\/tr>
    QR codes<\/td>Payment QR codes for Switzerland, Slovakia, Czechia, and the EU (SEPA).<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

    Some fields \u2014 like a company name, address, or document date \u2014 are mandatory wherever they’re used. This is set by the Field Catalog itself and can’t be changed per template.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Whether an account can add its own field to the catalog, as the underlying design intends, isn’t confirmed as a user-facing capability yet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Layers, Styles & Settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Layers<\/strong> tab lists your template as a tree \u2014 Body, Rows, Columns, and their components \u2014 handy for selecting something hard to click on a crowded canvas. The Styles<\/strong> tab configures the selected element’s General, Flex, Dimension, and Typography properties. The gear tab holds page-level Template Settings: Margin and Show Audit Trail<\/strong>, which adds the document’s audit trail to the rendered output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
